Some good examples of environmentally conscious brands

Patagonia is a really good brand for being incredibly environmentally conscious. They do The Footprint Chronicles which is basically a way for them to keep track of their environmental impacts and reduce it where possible. This is something that we could look at for our ideas about how to let the consumer know what happens to their clothing post-donation.

Icebreaker actually allow their consumer to trace the origin of clothing they have brought from their brand. It works on a 'baacode' system which is really clever, definitely worth looking at because I know we were talking about ways that the consumer could track information interactively.

From Somewhere focusses on collecting feeder cloth that has been thrown away by the textile industry and turning into clothing to sell. So they are very specific in what they do and good for up-cycling, similar to TRAID's remade.

That's all for now! I know a lot of brands that do up-cycling and are very conscious of waste etc but Patagonia and Icebreaker are more about keeping in touch with the consumer after the product and adding to the experience, which is definitely something to think about for TRAID.
